How often should I have diabetic foot care?

It’s important to schedule diabetic foot care appointments with Dr. Gandhi at A Step Up Podiatry, LLC, at least once a year. This is a separate appointment from your regular diabetes management with your medical doctor. Diabetes causes such serious problems with the feet that it’s vital to stay ahead of the problems. 

Always bring your diabetic shoes along to your diabetic foot care appointment if you aren’t wearing them at the time. Like any other shoes, diabetic shoes can wear down and require replacement on a regular basis.

Generally, most insurances and Medicare cover the cost of one new pair of diabetic shoes per year if you qualify.
